James E. Tearse, M.D

Graduate of Stanford University and Baylor College of Medicine, he is Board Certified in Ophthalmology. Dr. Tearse has been in Redwood City since 1987. He has performed thousands of successful cataract surgeries, many with multifocal implants. Dr. Tearse enjoyed teaching many training Ophthalmologists, first during his fellowship in Central and South America on Project ORBIS and then as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Stanford Medical School Ophthalmology Department. He also speaks Spanish. His hobbies include cycling and photography. 

Jina Chong, OD, FAAO

Dr. Jina Chong earned her Doctor of Optometry degree at UC Berkeley School of Optometry. Dr. Chong is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Her passion for providing ocular comfort and improved vision led her to pursue a residency in Cornea and Contact Lenses at Pacific University College of Optometry. Dr. Chong’s clinical interests include contact lens fittings to treat eyes with irregular corneas and ocular surface disease. She enjoys finding new recipes to cook and visiting local coffee shops. She is also fluent in Spanish and Korean.
